The Path to Peace | Philippians 4
In the Matthew 6—The Sermon on the Mount—Jesus tells us very clearly that worry is not worth it. Worry isn’t just a stress problem—it’s a trust problem. It reveals what we value most and whether we believe God is truly in control. In Philippians 4, Paul gives us a clear path out of worry and into peace—even while he’s writing from prison. He outlines three key practices:
1. Rejoice: Joy is a choice. Rejoicing shifts our focus from fear to faith. It reminds us that God has been faithful before—and He will be again.
2. Pray: Prayer turns panic into surrender. It’s not just about asking for help—it’s about connecting to the source of peace. When we pray, we invite God into our stress.
3. Give Thanks: Gratitude helps us see what God has already done. Worry and thankfulness can’t live in the same heart.
Paul says if we do these things, “the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
